Rosari Saleh memperoleh gelar doktornya pada tahun 1990 dari Fahrbereich Physik Philipps Universitaet Marburg, Jerman. Ia telah menjadi guru besar penuh bidang fisika di Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Indonesia sejak tahun 2007.
