Dr. Herbert P. Simanjuntak merupakan staf pengajar Departemen Fisika Universitas Indonesia. Beliau memperoleh gelar Doktor dari Tufts University, Amerika Serikat, pada tahun 1990 dengan judul tesis Macroscopic Quantum Tunneling in Josephson Junctions.
